Diploma in Electrical Engineering
Electrical engineering technologists provide technical support and services in the design, development, testing, production and operation of electrical and electronic equipment and systems. They are employed by electrical utilities, communications companies, manufacturers of electrical and electronic equipment, consulting firms, government sectors and a wide range of manufacturing, processing and transportation industries.
The main objective of this Diploma in Electrical Engineering is to train working adults to be competent in their respective fields of engineering and to upgrade their knowledge and skills.
Upon successful completion of this programme*, graduates can proceed on to a Bachelor of Engineering degree, awarded by The University of Newcastle, Australia. Advanced standing may be granted, subject to University’s entry requirements.
*The Diploma in Electrical Engineering is designed to upgrade the knowledge of individuals in the discipline and for academic progression to a related Engineering degree with PSB Academy’s university partners. It does not provide a path to certification as an Electrical Technician by the Energy Market Authority in Singapore.
Ths programme consists of 16 modules, amounting to a total of 930 contact hours for both the part-time and full-time pathways.

The programme is delivered over 32 months for the part-time pathway and 17 months for the full-time pathway.

^Skills Development Fund (SDF): The Skills Development Fund is a subsidy from the Workforce Development Agency (WDA). This is an employer based subsidy and applications for the training grant must be submitted through NTUC, CDAC, Mendaki, or your company.
- 3 GCE ‘O’ Level passes or equivalent, with at least a Grade 7 in English
- Higher NITEC or NITEC in Engineering-related disciplines
- Assignments, tests, projects and final examinations
