We aim to produce BEng graduates who are imaginative, innovative, versatile and competitive, who will be able to progress rapidly to professional positions of responsibility with minimal additional training, and who can provide technical, managerial and entrepreneurial leadership in specialist/interdisciplinary projects. This aim is achieved by:

  • Delivering a range of programmes of study with a substantial degree of commonality of core material, but with the flexibility to allow an element of specialisation;
  • Providing a supportive, structured environment in which students are encouraged to develop independent learning skills;
  • Developing subject knowledge and understanding, developing discipline skills and developing personal transferable skills, to enable graduates to pursue programmes of further study, or to move directly into responsible employment;
  • Promoting educational opportunities for ethnic minority, mature and alternatively qualified students, as well as for school-leavers and traditionally qualified students.

Entry Requirements

  • GCE ‘A’ Levels with grades of 3C’s including Mathematics and Physics preferred
  • MDIS Diploma in Engineering
  • Polytechnic graduates with a diploma in a relevant discipline may enter at Year 2
  • Other equivalent qualifications from recognised institutions will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
